She co-founded LAUNCH.org and NASA Datanauts, enhanced and expanded the International Space Apps Challenge, and leveraged Twitter and Facebook to build an interactive citizen engagement ecosystem at the frontier of the social media revolution. I have an artist's spirit and a gypsy soul.
I love to create things. If I could do it all day long every day, I would. There’s a soul-deep connection in the work you do with your hands.
Firing and molding metal. Hand sawing delicate details or bold words. Refining edges and shapes. The feel and smell of buttersoft leather. Cutting, carving, creating texture.
Watching a piece emerge from a pencil drawing to shiny silver or gold.
‘Artistic jewelry for the Modern Soul’.
In this place you will find the wanderings of my mind and the quirks and voice of my designs.
And, in this place you’ll find the merging of my two loves.
I love to paint. Painting in abstract has drawn me to its very core. The freedom of layering marks and color on canvas has given me a way to express the emotions of the moment, wherever that may lead.
Some of my paintings begin with a purpose. Others evolve through the layers, directing their own path.
Texture and shapes compete with contrast and color. And, I love to play and experiment; the mixture of media making experimenting fun.
My favorite surfaces are paper, canvas and birch board. Acrylic is my go-to guy; but ink, charcoal and watercolor like to sneak their way in. A blank canvas goes black, a cacophony of colors and shapes fight for purchase; and a painting emerges most often through negative space techniques.
Welcome to my color world.
